I was commissioned to make a body of work for the new Scarborough Hospital Emergency Department. The Sea and local coastline was the theme and over 6 months I made regular visits, culminating in the works shown below. It was important that the images were of a calming nature as well as complementing the decor and design of the department. The central artwork is Hayburn Wyke, a photograph of a North Yorkshire beach just north of Scarborough. To complement this piece I made two pieces of Scarborough bay which were installed into two recesses in the wall. Another piece of Scarborough Marina was made to go on the opposite wall of the Emergency Department waiting area. Further works were installed in the corridor and in the relatives room.
